How is our Wipe Bamboo Toilet Paper Made? Sustainable Toilet Roll

How is our Wipe Bamboo Toilet Paper Made?

This is one of those questions that sounds simple but has more layers than a luxury loo roll. So… how is toilet paper actually made? Let’s dive in, starting with the star of the show: pulp. It might look like nothing more than soggy mush, but it’s the beginning of pure bathroom brilliance.

From mush to mighty sheets

Wood fibres are broken down into pulp, basically a wet, fibre-filled sludge (imagine soup, but absolutely not the edible kind). Once everything is nicely mixed, the water is squeezed out and the pulp is dried at high speed to create a soft, flat sheet known as a ply.

These sheets are then rolled into enormous mother rolls. And when we say enormous, we mean “that’s-not-going-under-anyone’s-sink”. They’re then sliced, trimmed and perforated into the familiar household rolls we know and love. Easy… sort of.

But that leads to the bigger question:

Where do the fibres come from?

A lot of everyday toilet paper comes from chopping down virgin trees. Millions of them. Every single day. All so we can have a quick, comfy wipe and then flush it away. Bit wild when you think about it.

Trees are cut, stripped of bark, shipped around, pulped and often bleached  and bleaching isn’t exactly known for being gentle on the environment. The whole process is energy-heavy, resource-heavy and, honestly, a bit unnecessary.

How we Wipe With Pride

We think loo roll can be made without sacrificing forests which is why we use 100% bamboo.

Bamboo is the overachiever of the plant world. It grows at incredible speed, regenerates without replanting, and creates a soft, strong fibre that feels fantastic on your bum. No tree felling required. No guilt. Just good, clean wiping.

The mother roll moment

Once the pulp is transformed into lovely sheets, it’s rolled onto giant mother rolls (basically the mother of all loo rolls). These are then cut down to size, layered into multiple plies and perforated so you get that satisfying tear. The sheets are pressed for extra softness and texture — because your bum deserves the good stuff.

Each roll is wrapped in colourful plastic-free packaging to keep things clean, hygienic and rather good-looking. Throughout production, we run strict quality checks to make sure every roll is soft, strong and ready for action.

And the best part? Not a single tree was harmed in the making of your wipe.

Time to roll

So there you have it: how loo roll is usually made, and how we do it the kinder way. Ready to Wipe With Pride? Bamboo loo roll is soft on you and gentle on the planet.
